By now, we all know the dangers of texting/posting and driving–we still do it, anyways. Í Close to Home, BBDO New York and AT&T’s latest installment of the It Can Wait herferð, we are introduced to six characters on a perfectly average day. Their lives are then irrevocably changed in a scene that will give you goosebumps.

No post is worth a life. It Can Wait.

Shock-and-awe car crashes might seem passé, but there’s something different here–something special. Unlike the violent car crash ads of the past, AT&T takes us deeper into the lives of the ads’ characters. The the original Friday Night Lights, drawing us in–character by character. Það er this character development that takes this ad past first-level creative to establish a connection–making Close to Home effective and (more importantly) memorable.
