Humans Can’t Resist Cold Cereal

This General Mills ad has us yearning for the days when the biggest decision of our day was which sugar cereal we were going to chow down on before heading to school: Lucky Charms or Cinnamon Toast? Always a tough choice. The “Humans Can’t Resist” campaign from New York agency Walrus helped General Mills introduce its first new cereal in over 15 years: Tiny Toast.

The 15-second spots are definitely strange and a little gross, featuring personified animals treating humans like we treat animals: a sheep shearing a hairy man’s back; a horse putting food out for a hungry old lady; two birds staring as woman smashes up against the kitchen window; and a seagull protecting its goods from pesky humans looking to snag any crumbs. The message is simple: humans love cold cereal, and we can’t resist the ones with real ingredients like strawberries or blueberries.
