Dollar Shave Club Welcomes You to Its Moist Skin Club: Big Cloud #TBT
We all wish we could throw it back to the days when our skin smooth as a baby’s bottom. But we were babies, and the mental image of our skin being a baby’s butt is a little off-putting. Dollar Shave Club wants to help guys with dry skin relive those smooth-bottomed days since sometimes dudes aren’t that great at taking care of themselves. The Dollar Shave Club “People Notice” campaign is a candid introduction to its “Big Cloud” skincare line.
As usual, the ads were created by the DSC crew—no agency involvement here—and directed by HBO Girl’s Ray (Alex Karpovsky) and Teddy Blanks, AKA: The Spielbergs. Alec Brownstein, DSC’s creative director said the “People Notice” campaign came from the simple truth that people notice when guys do or don’t take care of their skin. Guys’ skin is either in dire need of attention (brati: dry and chapped) or needs a LOT less (brati: it rubs the lotion on its skin).
The six spots show that “people notice” when guys’ skin is less than perfect, and they do it in the grossest, most awkward, yet hilarious way.
