Wake Up to McDonald’s #AllDayBreakfast, Anytime You Want
Getting out of bed is a royal pain in the ass, especially on Monday mornings, which is why we love McDonald’s. Nothing helps drag us out of bed after a good Sunday Funday than the famous Golden Arches. But after McDonald’s introduced All Day Breakfast, and a few comical TV spots, last October, you can skip that Monday morning 8:00am conference call (whose bright idea was that anyway?) and roll in at lunch time with an Egg McMuffin in one hand and a Big Breakfast in the other. This might be the opposite of Monday Motivation, but at least your taste buds will be happy.
MickeyD’s and Leo Burnett joined forces to create three short TV spots (a :30 and two :15s) where straight-faced actors read actual tweets and Facebook posts from McDonald’s fans about wanting/needing/must-having McD’s breakfast around the clock. Think fast food meets Jimmy Kimmel’s Celebrity Mean Tweets: “one of McDonald’s mascots is a guy who steals from McDonald’s.” But seriously, cannwegettanamen for all-day pancakes? Hashtag Amen. Hashtag Hashbrowns.
McDonald’s breakfast is now bigger than just mornings, and the #AllDayBreakfast campaign is also bigger than TV, digital video, and Leo Burnett. DDB Chicago, Alma, Burrell and IW cooked up a whole smorgasbord of spots. And leave it to Giphy Studios to scramble together some sizzling GIFs for the twitter universe.
Alright, enough with the brunch puns. We’re just glad there will be no more rollin’ up to the drive-thru at 10:31am and wallowing in tears of disappointment. Pig nose emoji, times five. Happy Monday!
