Speedo Thinks it Can Help Take Your Fitness to the Next Level

What’s the best way to get in shape? Buy a new pair of shoes. The appeal of throwing on (and showing off) some fresh kicks is enough to get you out the door to ride that new-shoe high miles further than your feet could have taken you the day before. Or you could buy a Speedo. Bet ya didn’t think of that, which is why Iris launched a new campaign for Speedo, the brand’s first broadcast ad in over a decade, with a similar idea: add one thing to your fitness routine and you can take your fitness to the next level—swimming. And what’s necessary for swimming? A Speedo. Always better if it’s tangerine.

The “Don’t Just Get Fit, Get Speedo Fit” spot focuses on swimming as the way “to push your body further, to go deeper.” The campaign is meant to target fitness fanatics in over 50 global markets who are already fit and striving for more. Speedo wants people to swim their way to the next level of fitness because as Iris Executive Director explains, “elite athletes and fitness enthusiasts are constantly seeking out marginal gains to improve their performance.” There are 80, 60, and 30-second versions of the spot along with digital, social, and print ads.
