Today’s #באַקאָנביץ comes out of Atlanta, GA where Fitzgerald & Co. have harnessed our inner ape with these advertisements for Mary Todd Hairdressing— a barbershop where you can, “stop in to enjoy a beer, great banter, and the best hairdressing services in Atlanta.”

This disturbing juxtaposition of the Paleolithic Era and MTV’s Jersey Shore is being called creepy by many online commenters, but for that reason we like it.
Though online critics may have a point, the beastly images paired with Mary Todd’s tagline “Become Man” transform these ads from “creepy” to likeable and even enlightened. Whether purposeful or not, Mary Todd’s sarcastic angle is both self-deprecating and self-aware (appreciated in a hyper-sexualized market), and for these reasons we give a big thumbs up. We expect some fun conversations stemming from this campaign–what do you think of this campaign?
