Get This! You Can Ski (and Drive an Audi) Without Snow #TBT

When it’s summer we want to throw it back to winter and when it’s winter we wanna fast forward to summer—because you can’t boat without water and you definitely can’t ski without snow. Until now. In this ad from Lowe Strateus and production house The Boat, Audi Quattro breaks away from its typical footage of curve-hugging, sport-handling performance in the snow by putting French ski champion Candide Thovex on the slopes in something other than snow.

The Volkswagon brand has engrained in our minds that Audi Quattro’s all wheel drive is the best at handling in snowy conditions, just like Candide Thovex dominates the ski hill. But Audi wanted to demonstrate that the Quattro’s four wheels are made for driving in all four seasons, boasting the “all conditions are perfect conditions” tagline.
The two-minute clip received no paid-media support, so it had to be epic—the key to viral success. Based on the performance on Thovex’s social media platforms (YouTube and Facebook), it’s safe to say Quattro aced this one. The gnarly Audi skiing ad has received over 3 million views.
