Uber Driver Has Riders Karaoke to The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”
“The best advertising isn’t advertising.” -Ajaz Ahmed, founder at AKQA
Youtuber and Uber driver extraordinaire, Do Good Jonathan, recently published a video that could be the next big trend in ride-sharing–rider karaoke. After seeing the video, I reached out to Jonathan to ask him what his inspiration was, and to find out if there were any awkward moments:
@BigRyanPark it wasn’t awk b/c ppl in the vid wanted to be in it. Inspiration was just wanted to film ppl happy in my car. 😀 #140characters

And that was that!
The Ham’s Take
Uber just received one of its best ads, fo’ free. And while some YouTube commenters are complaining that the driver for not having his hands on the wheel, Jonathan insists they were only off the wheel when we were at a red light or stopped.
My take? Having driven for Lyft, I’m a little jealous that I didn’t think of this great idea! Similarly, I’m guessing that Uber/Lyft will feel the same upon seeing this video. So, hey Uber! Give Jonathan a bonus? It’s content like this that brands are dying to create, and my only disappointment is that there isn’t a dedicated channel to Uber/Lyft karaoke–seriously, rad concept.
