Ad Campaign Makes Children Cry To Save Lives #baconbits

A new campaign from DDB Paris for Médecins du Monde / Doctors of The World has recently dropped, and it’ll put a lump in your throat. What do you think about the campaign, Make A Child Cry?

The Ham’s Take

This ad campaign idea is clearly born out of a challenge. Nobody wants to see a child cry, especially if it’s their own kid. The stress, lack of sleep, and steep learning curve that comes with having a baby can make doctors visits a painful challenge for parents. If you’re a parent, you’ve been there. It sucks to take your child to the doctor and watch them cry in pain, but it’s a necessary thing for their own health.

While historians may not document it as one of the best ad campaigns of all time, #MAKEACHILDCRY gave us a lump in our throats and effectively captured the importance of childhood medical care. Additionally, the Make A Child Cry microsite (shown below) ties in nicely with the campaigns media executions–highlighting the problem and providing a clear solution. B+
