He Finds His Voice in Photography & Inspires Everyone in The Process #Hamspiration

“I knew what I had to say was important, but I lacked a voice. The minute I picked up a camera: that’s when I found my voice.”

Photographer Filipe DeAndrade recently won National Geographic Wild’s 2nd annual “Wild to Inspire” competition at the Sun Valley Film Festival. As creatives, his story resonated with us: “I was 5 years old when we came to America from Brasil. We had no citizenship, no money and I had a tenuous grasp on the English Language. To make things a little more difficult, my father was addicted to drugs and extremely abusive. So at 5 years old, I learned my most important life lesson. Adapt.”
